Tablelands

Meetings

Tablelands branch meets at 7:30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Meetings are held at the QCWA Hall, Tolga.

History

Thirty-nine people attended the inaugural meeting of the Tablelands Branch of SGAP on 13th March 1980. Peter Radke was elected Chairman and Suzanne Cameron Secretary.

This Branch has published a number of plant lists and booklets, including Australian Plants for the Atherton Tableland in 1981 and Attracting Butterflies to your Garden in 1982. In 1988 they produced their book, North Queensland Native Plants.

In June 1986, Tablelands Branch combined with Cairns Branch to host a Queensland Regional Conference. The theme was Go Native and the conference was conducted in and around various areas of Cairns and the Atherton Tableland. It was followed by a post-conference tour to Cape Flattery and Cooktown.

We welcome visitors to our branch meetings—you'll find we're a friendly group!
