Online Membership Introduction & FAQ

If you're interested in joining Native Plants Queensland, please head over to our 'Become a Member' page.

In 2021, Native Plants Queensland migrated its website and membership database to a service called Wild Apricot, which enables us to now offer online membership services. This means you are now able to:

  • apply and pay for new memberships online
  • login to your membership profile to update your own contact details and renew your membership
  • reliably receive member/event updates, and our monthly newsletter, via email.

We will also be able to provide secure member-only content via the website—we'll keep you updated as these resources come online.

Ready to renew your membership?

All memberships are due for renewal on the 1st of April 2022

Step 1: If you don't yet have a password, follow the 'Logging in' instructions below.

Step 2: Once logged in, go to your profile by clicking on your name in the website header, and you will see a 'Renew to 1 April 2023' button.

(If you are part of a family/group membership, one of you is the 'administrator' and only they will see the 'Renew' button—see 'Managing your membership' below.)

Step 3: Pay your membership fees:

- When you get to the payment screen click 'Pay online' to pay immediately with your credit/debit card.

- OR click 'Invoice me' if you'd prefer to pay by direct deposit, cheque or at your local NPQ branch meeting. You will find all those alternative payment details here.

If you have any problems renewing online please contact our Membership Officer at membership@npq.org.au to arrange offline renewal.

Logging in

To log into the website, and access your membership profile, you will need your email address and password.

If you join for the first time via the new website from 1 February 2021, you will automatically receive an email with your password. (See below for what to do if you do not receive your email.)

If you were an existing member as at 1 February 2021, your details have been migrated to the new system but you will need to set your own password before logging in for the first time.

Wherever you are on the NPQ website, click the icon in the top right of the screen (on the purple background) to log in, or (if you are already logged in) click on your name in the top right of the screen to view your profile and membership details.

Set your password for the first time

Click the login icon at the top right of the website and click 'Forgot password' on the next page. (On mobile version 'Forgot password' will appear immediately under the login boxes.)

Enter your email address and you will receive a password reset email. You can also use this facility if you need to reset your password at any time.

If the system does not recognise your email, you need to contact the membership officer (membership@npq.org.au) and provide your correct email address.

If you do not receive the email, please check your SPAM/junk folder and add updates@npq.org.au to your address book. We have had problems specifically with bigpond.com accounts—you can log onto your Telstra webmail and you may find the password email in the junk folder. If that does happen we would really appreciate you letting us know (email updates@npq.org.au) so we can follow up with Telstra.

Managing your membership (and multi-person memberships)

Native Plants Queensland allows for Ordinary Memberships to include additional people residing at the same address, at no additional cost.

In Wild Apricot terminology, this is called a membership 'bundle'. The person who sets up the membership / completes the application form becomes the bundle administrator and has the ability to add, delete or edit any details of all other bundle members. (Even if you are the only person in your membership, you are still referred to as the bundle administrator.)

This is very important because it is the bundle administrator who receives membership renewal reminders and who is responsible for making payments. Also, your printed quarterly Native Plants Queensland Journal will be posted to the mailing address entered on the bundle administrator's record.

The bundle administrator may add other people residing at the same address to the membership bundle. These additional members need to be entered with a unique email address, separate from the bundle administrator. This will enable them to also log into the website, access member-only content and check/update their own details.

If you were an existing member as at 1 February 2021, your details have been migrated to the new system and we have nominated the first person listed on your membership as your bundle administrator.

To check your record, follow the logging in instructions in the section above, and you will be able to see who is the bundle administrator for your membership. If you wish to change the nominated person, contact the membership officer (membership@npq.org.au).

Member Directory

Please note that on your personal profile page you will see settings related to your 'Directory Profile'. A member directory is a facility offered by Wild Apricot, however at this time we have disabled the directory function (apart from a listing for our Council). If we do offer a member directory in the future, you will be advised in advance and it will be 'opt-in', so that no information is displayed without your knowledge and permission.
