Whether you like to grow, plant, identify, study, draw, photograph, or conserve our beautiful Australian native plants; you will be welcome at Native Plants Queensland!

Our members have a diverse range of skills and backgrounds and they are happy to share their knowledge with native plant novices. As well as the many social opportunities that our organisation offers, our members enjoy the satisfaction of growing, protecting and promoting Australia's extraordinary native plants. 

When you become a member of Native Plants Queensland, you will be able to:

  • take part in social meet-ups, bushwalks, garden visits and speaker nights
  • obtain free native seed from the Native Plants Queensland Seed Bank (currently closed)
  • receive quarterly issues of the 'Native Plants Queensland Journal'
  • join one (or more) of our NPQ branches* and get involved in local bushcare or plant propagation projects
  • propagate and sell your own plants at one of our Native Plant Markets 
  • borrow books from the Native Plants Queensland Library
  • participate in one of the ANPSA Study Groups to learn more about a particular group of plants or plant communities
  • attend Native Plant Society Conferences in Queensland and interstate 

New members will also receive an Information pack including a Welcome letter, Information booklet, brochures and a sample copy of the Australian Plants Journal.

Ordinary Memberships

Full Year - $40
(1 April to 31 March) 

Half-year option available from 1 October.

Student Memberships

Full Year - $20
(1 April to 31 March)

No half-year option available.

Proof of full-time study required.

Additional Members

Ordinary and Student Memberships can include additional members at the same address for no additional fee.

When applying for membership you are asked to confirm (by tick box on the online form or by signature on the PDF form) that you have read and accepted the rules of the society and our privacy policy as follows.

Native Plants Queensland Constitution and Rules.

Privacy Policy: Native Plants Queensland respects the privacy of current and past members. Details of our members are advised to our Region and Branch officers and Queensland based Study group leaders for use only in accordance with the Society’s Objectives. Summary details (name & district only) of new members are published in our Journal. Selected details only of current memberships may also be kept in a secure database to enable access to the “members only” section of our website.

Memberships are available only within Australia. Membership with NPQ may be taken out by individuals or organisations. Please supply full names for all parties for both insurance purposes.
